Facebook will soon be launching a new email messaging system that will challenge email giants Gmail, Yahoo, and Hotmail, according to the BBC News.

Dubbed “the Gmail Killer” by the technology Techcrunch blog, the social media company could unveil a full email operation, according to unconfirmed reports. It is also rumored that users may have their own @facebook.com email address.

Facebook boasts more than 500 million users globally. They will host a special event in San Francisco today releasing more details.

Beloit College is a liberal arts college in Wisconsin and their college mindset list was created in 1998 to remind professors what cultural factors have gone into shaping the lives of the student body. John Stamos’ legal troubles are over. On Thursday, a jury convicted a Michigan couple of conspiring to extort $680,000 from the actor.

People.com reports that Allison Coss, 24, and Scott Sippola, 31, allegedly contacted Stamos saying they had photos of him with cocaine and strippers and threatened to sell the photos to the tabloids unless Stamos paid them.

The two were convicted of conspiring to extort and using email to threaten. This can put them in prison for up to 5 years.

The culprit, David Kernell, 22, is the son of Tennessee Representative Mike Kernell, a Democrat. Kernell was at the University of Tennessee at the time of hacking Palin's account, according to CNN.
