Matt LeBlanc made his big return to TV this past Sunday in the new Showtime series Episodes in which the former Friends star plays a fictionalized version of himself.

Episodes is the actor's first major role in five years. He last appeared in the Friends spin-off Joey which he openly admitted he didn’t expect to reach the popularity his other show did.

'Friends' actor and creator have teamed up again

It has been almost seven years since the finale of the hit TV show Friends. However, creator David Crane has now developed a funny series called Episodes that stars former Friend Matt LeBlanc.

The show will originate on Showtime in the United States and will air this fall in Canada on The Movie Network and Movie Central.

After playing the hilarious Joey Tribbiani on Friends for 12 years, Matt LeBlanc doesn’t get offended by fans calling him “Joey.”

My job is to make you believe what I'm saying - that's an actor's job - so if people really believed me as [Joey on Friends], I've done my job," LeBlanc said at the Television Critics Association press tour. "I don't see it as a negative thing when people call me Joey. I take it as a compliment."
