Rise of the Planet of the Apes

I received a dose of culture shock as I read the tweets anticipating last summer’s release of Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The Apes were considered the villains in the 1968 original, but now people were looking forward to cheering for them.

After I watched the apes being taken away from their habitat, greedy corporate tycoons using them to play god and their mistreatment at a supposed animal sanctuary, I found myself, “Go Apes!”

Diaz is so 'Bad' that it hurts

I once overheard a girl in one of my college English classes talking about her upcoming teaching career. She raved about having her summers off, the tenure she gets in three years and a day, but spent less then a minute talking about her goals for her students.

Elizabeth Halsey, as portrayed by Cameron Diaz, in the hilarious comedy, Bad Teacher, substitutes movies for books, takes no interest in her students and sleeps at her desk either stoned or nursing a hangover, which is exactly how I imagine that same girl now runs her classroom.

MSNBC reports that Radcliffe took two pairs of glasses home with him. “Yes, I have two pairs. I have one pair from the very first film and one from the last. So I’ve got my fair share of swag.”

'Stories I Only Tell My Friends' by Rob Lowe.

Lowe tells his 'Stories' in print.

I was surprised when I read that at 47 years old, Rob Lowe would be releasing his autobiography, Stories I Only Tell My Friends, this year.

Then after finishing Stories, it was clear that Lowe has had enough personal and professional turmoil in his lifetime for another volume of Stories.

Lowe was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, to a lawyer father and a privileged mother. His family moved to Dayton, Ohio where he fell in love with acting after seeing a local production of the musical, Oliver!

Justin Timberlake shoots down working with Jay-Z

Dan Connolly

After Jay-Z denied Justin Timberlake's proposal to collaborate on his solo release, Future Sex/Love Sounds, the pop star-turned-actor says a future duet will not be in order.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Timberlake said he reached out to Jay-Z with hopes of working together on his 2006 album, but the hip-hop icon's schedule was too busy for a recording session and he hoped they could work together on the Tennessee native's next album.

In the interview, TImberlake stated that it's not as easy as that.
