'Fringe' Recap: Making Angels

As the episode opens, a poor man just received the news that he has malignant cancer. Despite his high chance of survival, he can't help but be depressed. Sitting on a bus bench, he is approached by a strange man who starts explaining the painful healing process the cancer patient is about to undergo. Now, the ailing man is adamant about his survival, but the stranger won't allow it. As the bus pulls by the station, the man is sprawled across the bench, dead.

‘The Woman in Black’ and ‘Chronicle’ lead better-than-expected box office numbers

Both made over $8 million on Friday

The Super Bowl is this weekend, and many analysts predicted a pretty slow weekend at the box office. However, if Saturday is anything like Friday for Hollywood, this weekend will be a pleasant surprise. Daniel Radcliffe’s horror film The Woman in Black and Fox’s Chronicle had better-than-expected opening days, which could set up for a big weekend for both films.

FX picks up ‘Sons of Anarchy’ for two additional seasons

FX confirmed Friday afternoon that the cable network has picked up Sons of Anarchy for two more seasons, bringing it up to season six. The show’s creator, Kurt Sutter also signed a three-year overall deal to write and produce future projects with 20th Century Fox Television and FX Productions, which produce Sons of Anarchy.

According to The Wrap, FX is also expected to later pick it up for a seventh and potentially final season.

‘The Big Bang Theory’ ties ‘American Idol’ in ratings again

Thursday night’s ratings and audience numbers looked similar to last Thursday’s, with The Big Bang Theory and American Idol both receiving the best rating in the key demographic and the audiences for NBC’s comedies continuing to shrink. Big Bang also repeated the same feat from last week, beating Idol in the 8-8:30 p.m. slot.

Kevin Bacon to headline pilot for FOX

Actor Kevin Bacon has been cast as the lead in an upcoming drama for Fox.

The show, which has yet to be titled, was created by Kevin Williamson, who is known as the writer of Wes Craven’s Scream(1996).

Williamson is also the frontrunner of the current series The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle.

'Alcatraz' - Cal Sweeney recap
