Miyazaki’s next film: 'The Borrower Arrietty'

Japanese filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki’s next film, Karigurashi no Arrietty (The Borrower Arrietty), will be released July 17 in Japan with Studio Ghibli. Disney’s English dubbed release has yet to be announced. The film is inspired by Mary Norton’s series of novels The Borrowers, and there was a live action adaptation released in 1997 starring John Goodman and Hugh Laurie. The film is set in present day Japan and delves into the lives of the borrowers (the protagonist’s name is Arrietty) and their fledgling relationship with a human.

Disney and filmmaker Hayao Myazaki create four new DVD's for release March 2.

Walt Disney teamed up with legendary filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli to release four new movies on DVD March 2. Ponyon, Castle in the Sky, Kiki's Delivery Service, and My Neighbor Totoro join the ranks of Disney movies that will be on every child's list.
