Ice-T signs a two-year deal to extend stay at 'Law and Order: SVU'

Ice-T posted on his Twitter today that he has closed a deal to stay on Law and Order:SVU for two more seasons.

“So I’ll officially be back for the next 2 years at least. DONE,” he said.

He also tweeted that "no one else is locked as new members of the show."

According to Entertainment Weekly, NBC has yet to decide who will replace the star Christopher Meloni. He was offered a generous salary to remain on the show but decided to leave instead.

Rapper turned actor Ice-T has inked a new two-year deal to continue starring on NBC’s Law & Order: SVU.

Ice-T made the announcement on his Twitter account that he will be returning to play Detective Fin Tutuola during its 13th season and if the show is renewed, its 14th season. He has been with the show since its second season, reports Reuters.

The actor also tweeted about the status of the rest of the cast, “No one else is locked as new members of the show.”

After 12 seasons and 272 episodes, Law & Order: SVU’s Christopher Meloni will be leaving the show.

The crime-based drama is centered in New York City and fronted by Meloni’s character since it premiered back in 1999. Meloni’s rep simply states that it’s “time for a new chapter” in his life.

The New York Daily News has reported that the star was arrested near the Lincoln Tunnel early Tuesday morning.

After being pulled over for driving without a seatbelt, police discovered that Ice-T was driving his 2009 Cadillac sedan with expired auto insurance.

NYPD has stopped rapper Ice-T cold in his tracks.

According to the Associated Press, the rapper was arrested Tuesday morning at the corner of W. 40th St. and 11th Ave. for driving with a suspended license.

Ice-T, 52, who reportedly was on his way to taking his dog to the vet, was pulled over in his Cadillac for not wearing a seat belt. Then, the police discovered he was driving with a suspended license.
