Taylor Swift is known for her amazing pop country singles and loveable personality but Swift is now branching out musically with her latest single, “Safe and Sound.” “Safe and Sound” will be featured on the soundtrack for the upcoming film, The Hunger Games. The soundtrack will also feature music from artists like the Decemberists and Arcade Fire.

'Dark Knight Rises' trailer breaks iTunes record

Warner Bros. announced Friday that the new trailer for the upcoming Batman film The Dark Knight Rises has made a new viewing record on iTunes.

The trailer went online Monday at 10 a.m. It was viewed by over 12 million people after 24 hours.

The new trailer broke the record of 10 million views, previously held by the trailer for The Avengers, which was released on October.

The trailer for one of the most anticipated movies of 2012 was released Monday morning to scores of rabid fans helping shatter the one-day record of trailer views on ITunes.

The The New York Daily News, reports, Warner Bros. announced 12.5 million views combined on the iTunes trailer site and the iTunes trailers app for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch in less than 24 hours.

Lambert’s new single honors husband’s late brother

The next single off of Miranda Lambert’s Four the Record will be her song, “Over You,” which was written to honor Blake Shelton’s brother who passed away.

The couple sat down and wrote about Shelton’s late brother, who Lambert had never had the chance to meet. Richie Shelton died in a car accident in 1990.

Adele tops iTunes charts for 2011

Last week, Adele topped the British music charts for 2011 and now Adele has done the same in the United States. Adele has topped the iTunes album chart with her album, 21 but Adele also topped the US iTunes singles chart with her song, “Rolling in the Deep.” That is a lot for one year!

If that was not enough for Adele, The UK Press Association added, her album 21 was named the biggest-selling album of the century.

The Pretty Reckless gets some help from Victoria's Secret

The rock goth band, The Pretty Reckless, has been enjoying iTunes success since the band's single, “Make Me Wanna Die,” opened the Victoria's Secret Fashion show.

According to Zoiks Online, the band's single reached number three on the iTunes rock charts and their album Light Me Up has reached number 11 on the iTunes rock charts.

Google is expanding their empire today, Nov. 16 by launching a music store, simply called Google Music. However, since the company did not secure deals with all four of the major labels, the announcement might be diminished, making it impossible for Google to really compete with iTunes.
