National Geographic confirmed that American cinematographer Mike deGruy and Australian television writer-producer Andrew Wight both died in a helicopter crash in eastern Australia. The two were working for National Geographic, which confirmed the news Sunday.

James Cameron sued over 'Avatar' again


Director James Cameron has once again been sued over his mega-hit film, Avatar (2009).

This time it is science fiction writer Bryant Moore who has filed suit against the director, claiming Cameron stole his idea for the movie from Moore’s screenplays, entitled Aquatica and Descendants: The Pollination. Moore filed suit Monday and is seeking over $2 billion - $1.5 billion in actual damages and $1 billion in punitive damages - from Cameron and 20th Century Fox.

Thursday, a science fiction fan named Eric Ryder filed a lawsuit against James Cameron and his Lightstorm Entertainment, claiming that Cameron’s hit 2009 film Avatar was actually based on his idea.

James Cameron previews 'Titanic' 3D

Producer-director James Cameron showed a segment of the upcoming 3D version of his film Titanic (1997) Friday.

The 18-minute, eight-scene preview was screened at the Paramount lot in Hollywood. Cameron stated that, while the film will be in 3D, nothing about the film itself would change.
