If as many viewers were excited to see Kate Gosselin leave television as there were watching the whole time, TLC might not have cancelled Kate Plus 8.

The series finale on Tuesday night drew a total of 2.1 million viewers, according to The Daily Mail.

Kate Gosselin revealed her plans for her life after TLC cancelled her reality show, Kate Plus 8. She announced plans to take the show’s premise onto an online blog format.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, she told Matt Lauer on the Today show that the idea of KatePlusMy8.com is to create “...a place where fans can go and follow us, so we're not just sort of ending.”

Kate Gosselin recently admitted that she was “freaking out” that her TLC show Kate Plus 8 has been canceled, leaving her with an unknown future.

Her ex-husband, Jon Gosselin, has publicly advised her to return to a normal life, but the mother of eight appeared on the Today show Monday morning to reveal plans to the contrary.

Once her show, Kate Plus 8 got canceled, Kate Gosselin expressed how concerned she was about being able to provide for her eight famous cuties, and none other than her ex-husband Jon had some advice.

“Reality TV is not a career,” he said, according to People. “Get back to a normal life – a simple life.”

TLC has pulled the plug on Kate Plus 8.

The show, which started out being Jon and Kate Plus 8, then revamped after the Jon and Kate Gosselin’s messy divorce, is centered on the couple’s twin daughters and their sextuplets.

“TLC has decided not to renew another season of Kate Plus 8,” thw network announced in a statement Monday, the Wall Street Journal reports. “TLC hopes to check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future.”

Despite a rough few years, Kate Gosselin contends that she is quite happy with her life.

She told People, “I know that I'm glad to be divorced and on my own.”

With regards to her ex-husband, Jon Gosselin, Kate added, “I wouldn't change my marriage because I have eight awesome kids that I would not change. But people change and they're not who you thought they were and if they're not for you, move on. And I have.”

Kate Gosselin is gearing up for a new season of Kate Plus 8 on TLC, but how are things with her ex-husband, Jon Gosselin?

The two haven’t been the most cordial since their split, but Kate said of their relationship now, “It's just naturally gotten more peaceful, which is good.”

She also told People, "He's working now, which is great. He has somewhere else to put his attention, which is good."
