Nicki Minaj has accomplished a lot in the last year: guest spots on what seems like an infinite amount of songs, awards, and being the first female rapper to have a number one song on the Billboard charts. Remarkably, this has all been done without even releasing an album. The Associated Press has interviewed some of Minaj’s peers to see what they had to say about what she is doing for female rappers.

On Sunday, July 18, rapper Ludacris was awarded the Developing Options Humanitarian Award for his support of community youth at a diabetes fundraiser.

Developing Options is a non-profit organization which helps improve the quality of life for young children suffering from the condition of diabetes.

The three-day event was sponsored by the Developing Options, the City of Los Angeles, Wells Fargo Bank, Powerade, the LAPD and football “legend/community activist,” Eugene “Big U” Henley.

Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber has attracted a great deal of attention in recent weeks. The teenage superstar has spent time with his new celebrity BFF, Kim Kardashian, and performed a live set during a television special to commemorate the July 4 holiday. While many young girls continue to adore him and listen to his music ad nauseum, an anti-Bieber contingent from 4chan recently executed a prank to rig his “My World Tour” Twitter voting contest.

In the fall, the new Meadowlands Stadium will serve as the home for the New York Giants and New York Jets during the 2010 NFL regular season. However, it served as the concert venue for Hot 97's Summer Jam 2010 on Sunday night. Popular hip-hop artists such as Drake, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Rick Ross, Juelz Santana and Nicki Minaj performed at new Meadowlands Stadium, as did R&B performers Trey Songz and Usher.
