Mel Gibson's divorce to wife of 31 years has been finalized

Following a series of public scandals, a Los Angeles judge approved a divorce settlement on Thursday between Mel Gibson and his wife of 31 years, Robyn Denise Moore.

People reported the mother of Gibson’s seven children, is walking away with an estimated $850 million, nearly half of the movie star’s fortune. Only one of the former couple’s children, their 12-year-old son, is a minor and subject to a custody agreement.

Gibson was married to Robyn for nearly 30 years. Their marriage led to seven children.

She was legally entitled to half of everything Gibson earned during their marriage because they did not sign a prenuptial agreement.

Robyn’s settlement is now considered the biggest divorce payout in Hollywood.

Sources say that reality star Laura Bellizzi is now pregnant, thanks to Gibson. This would make it nine children for the actor-director, who has been persona non grata in Hollywood since the 2010 scandal in which his former flame, Oksana Grigorieva, recorded Gibson making violent and racist rants.

Robert Downey, Jr. was honored Friday at the American Cinematheque Award ceremony in Beverly Hills, but the spotlight was put on a different celebrity.

Rabbi: Only Mel Gibson can ask for forgiveness

A Rabbi said that only Mel Gibson, not Robert Downey Jr. or anyone else, can ask for forgiveness.

While accepting the American Cinematheque Award Friday, Downey urged the Hollywood community to forgive Gibson for his recent troubles. He and Gibson acted together in Air America(1990).

“I urge you to forgive my friend his trespasses,” Downey said. "Allow him to pursue this art without shame."

Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. has urged his peers to show Mel Gibson support.

According to E! Online, Downey decided to take the stage to defend Gibson after Gibson presented him with an award honoring his work.

"Unless you are without sin—and if you are, you are in the wrong f---king industry—you should forgive him and let him work again," Downey said.
