Arrested Development will be returning for a new season on Netflix in 2013.

The show originally aired on Fox from 2003-2006. Ever since its cancellation, rumors have circulated that there would be a movie. The Huffington Post has reported that the return is really happening. The plan is set for 10 episodes and a feature film.

Netflix broadened their horizon to across the pond Monday, launching its streaming service in the UK and Ireland. While local television programs will be featured, Netflix also secured streaming rights from the major Hollywood studio’s UK and European branches.

Just after it was reported that Time Warner subsidiary HBO told Netflix that it will no longer supply the renting service with DVDs and Blu-rays of its programs, it has been reported that Time Warner’s Warner Bros. will make Netflix, Redbox and Blockbuster wait 56 days after a film’s home video release before they can offer copies to subscribers to rent.

Renting DVDs and Blu-rays of your favorite HBO show through Netflix just got a bit harder. HBO is no longer going to allow Netflix to order copies of their shows through them. HBO programs will still be available to rent through Netflix. Except now, Netflix will have to find some other way to get copies.

Netflix is trying to put their tumultuous 2011, which saw their customers revolt against their price changes, behind them by adding their own original content for subscribers. The streaming service has released the trailer for their first original series, Lilyhammer, which stars The Sopranos actor and The E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt.

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings has made quite a few trip-ups with the company this year, and he’s punishing himself for them.

The Associated Press reported Hastings is paying a $1.5 million fee for the customer-alienating mistakes.

Instead of receiving $3 million in stock options, he will only be getting half that amount next year. His base salary remains the same at $500,000.

When Netflix suddenly increased their pricing from $9.99 a month for unlimited moves online and one DVD at a time to a combination of $7.99 for Netflix Instant streaming and $7.99 to receive discs in the mail -- $15.98 a month – 800,000 users canceled their accounts.

The backlash continued with the company taking a multibillion-dollar drop in their market value. Now, CEO Reed Hastings is speaking out about the changes and admits Netflix "got overconfident” this year.

The beloved sitcom Arrested Development is set to return to TV thanks to Netflix.

The online retailer announced that it would pick up a new season of the show beginning in 2013.

Development ran from 2003-2006, but gained popularity in the years since its cancellation. It won five Emmy Awards, one Golden Globe and was named one of the 100 best TV shows of all time by TIME magazine.

Netflix has won the battle to finish the story of the Bluth family. The online streaming company made the announcement Friday night that they will stream new episodes of the Emmy-winning Arrested Development starting in 2013.
