Parks and Recreation

Parks and Recreation Recap: The Treaty

Parks and Rec, I can't take this. I have been through many a so-damn-cute-but-can't-be-together-for-some-contrived-reason TV couples in my day. Jim and Pam made me both squeal and sob during the Office glory days. Of all the bright and twee aspects to Pushing Daisies, I loved Ned and Chuck the most. Hell, I endured three whole seasons of Gossip Girl just for Chuck and Blair. And now you come along with this Leslie and Ben fiasco. Well I won't have it. Not the heartbreaking glances, not the adorable high fives over Model UN, not the jokes about Kathy Ireland...oh, who am I kidding?

Parks and Recreation Recap: End of the World

When they put their minds to it, Leslie and Ben really know how to break our hearts. Watching their reluctant but necessary split in the season premiere was a lesson in gut-wrenching tragedy, and they brought their best devastating aching out again last night in “End of the World,” a relationship-heavy episode improbably driven by a Harold Camping-like doomsday prophet.

Parks and Recreation Recap: Meet 'N' Greet

Ah, Halloween. A time for children to indulge in crazy amounts of sugar, women to wear questionable costumes, and teen punks to defile their neighbors’ homes. For the Parks and Rec gang, though, it’s a time for elaborate house parties and, oddly, campaign meet and greets. Of course Leslie would put her career first, but NBC, are we ever going to see Amy Poehler in a costume? Given Ms. Knope’s endless enthusiasm for festivities and general revelry, her get-up would be sure to kick Ann’s eggplant ensemble’s ass.

Parks and Recreation Recap: Pawnee Rangers

Despite their totally different philosophies, Ron and Leslie are known more for their ability to work well together than petty squabbling. Yet this episode showed the pair at-odds over local boys’ and girls’ clubs. While we saw a moment of true vulnerability from Ron, it was a competition which both seemingly won in the end. Also winners in this episode? Tom and Donna, whose excellent holiday (Treat Yo Self), should be adopted by our nation as soon as possible.

Jake Gyllenhaal was quite the ladies man this Labor Day weekend, as he scheduled two dates with both Hollywood starlets, Rashida Jones and Anna Kendrick.

Oprah wanted for guest spot on 'Parks and Recreation'

Former "Queen of Daytime" Oprah Winfrey may have said goodbye to her talk show, but if Parks and Recreation's Nick Offerman has anything to do with it, she will be saying hello to the town of Pawnee, Indiana.

Offerman's character on the show, Ron Swanson, has an ex-wife named Tammy who will make an appearance on the show's fourth season. The Huffington Post says that the show is currently on the hunt for the actress to play Tammy.

Steve Carell’s 'The Office' Send-Off Grows Into Extended Episode

NBC gives Carell's last 'Office' episode an extra twenty minutes

NBC just keeps making Steve Carell’s last season on The Office bigger and bigger as it has announced today that his final episode will be a full twenty minutes longer than an average episode.

According to USA Today, the episode, which airs on April 24, will go from 9:00 to 9:50pm.

Following that will be Parks and Recreation, which will get an extra ten minutes in length to take it from 9:50 to 10:30pm.

‘American Idol’ Season 10’s First Hour-Long Results Show Drops in Key Demo, FOX Holds Off CBS for Thursday Night Ratings Victory

New episodes of ‘American Idol’ and ‘Bones’ helped FOX win Thursday night

Fast National Nielsen ratings for Thursday, March 10, 2011 reveal that FOX held off CBS with new episodes of American Idol and Bones.

Season 10’s first hour-long results show was down 21 percent compared to last Thursday’s two-hour episode, but the ratings data does not come as a surprise since the show announcing the finalists is usually one of the most-watched episodes of Idol each season, according to TV by the Numbers.
