The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo star, Rooney Mara, and her family must have done a lot of good deeds to receive this much fortune. Within the past week, Rooney got an Oscar nomination for Best Actress and the Giants scored a spot in the Super Bowl.

The talented actress is the granddaughter of late Giants’ owner, Wellington Mara, and the daughter of senior president of player evaluation, Chris Mara. With these family credentials, it is no surprise that Rooney braved rowdy fans to watch the New York team come out victorious against San Francisco.

Rooney Mara won over Girl With the Dragon Tattoo director David Fincher and others after a drawn-out audition process, that also saw A-listers Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, and Carey Mulligan in the running for the lead role of Lisbeth.

Rooney Mara denies dissing 'SVU'

Actress Rooney Mara has denied criticizing the NBC TV series, Law & Order: SVU.

The New York Post claimed that the actress, 26, spoke ill of the 2006 episode of the show that she worked on, in an interview with Allure magazine.

"It was so awful. So stupid," Mara was quoted as saying.

However, the actress, 26, has come out saying that she said no such thing.

"That was my first job," Mara said. "It couldn't have been more exciting for me. It's an experience I hold very dear to my heart."

Rooney Mara felt 'so stupid' on 'Law & Order: SVU'

Rooney Mara may play the heroine in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, but before she became famous she played a big bully on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit and she’s not too proud of it.

E! Online reported the breakout star earned one of her first acting creds when Dick Wolf hired her for an episode of the NBC crime solving show.

But in an interview with Allure magazine, the 26-year-old said she felt “so stupid” playing one-episode character Jessica DeLay.

David Fincher calls Rooney Mara a weirdo

Director David Fincher gave a backhanded compliment to Rooney Mara, the star of his upcoming film The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

In an upcoming interview with Vogue magazine, Fincher called Mara a "great weirdo."

Mara plays Lisbeth Salander in the film. She was interviewed along with Fincher.
“I have really enjoyed being a boy this year,” she said of the role. Mara added that the character changed her dressing habits.

Larsson's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy, which has already been put to celluloid in Scandinavia, will test Fincher's talents as a director as he tries to show the dark underbelly of the world around us. Cast as journalist Mikael Blomkvist, Danial Craig opened up to MTV this week about the casting of punk rock computer hacker Lisbeth Salander.

In order to be Lisbeth Salander, Rooney Mara had to undergo a few changes. The lead character in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a little harsh to look at, but there’s definitely more to her than meets the eye.

Director David Fincher and Mara pulled out all the stops to make the actress look similar to the description given in the popular Stieg Larsson novel. Pictures of her from the movie can be seen in this month’s W magazine.
