The CW close to striking deal for ‘Green Arrow’ pilot

Fans of Smallville may have been bummed out when the show ended, but it looks like The CW is ready for its next series based on a DC Comics superhero. While not as iconic as Clark Kent/Superman, Green Arrow will be the next character to get a series.

Eric Kripke knows a thing or two about creating a successfully spooky series. The brains behind the CW's badass angels-and-demons-and-hot-guys saga Supernatural is staying put on the network, thanks to a new deal with DC Comics.

According to Deadline, the former home of Superman origin story Smallville wants to get back in the capes-and-tights comic business with a television adaptation of DC's Deadman.

Now that their pre-Superman Clark Kent soapy saga, Smallville, has finished its run on the CW, showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have started eying their next project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the super team behind the long-running Smallville are in talks to help pen a big screen adaptation of the popular young adult series, Homelanders.

'Smallville' lasts a decade; series finale to air in a week

After a decade of chronicling Clark Kent’s teen and young adult life, Smallville will come to a close with its two- hour series finale Friday, May 13.

Zap2It reports that not much is known of the content of the series finisher, thoughts include wedding bells – since Kent, (Tom Welling), is on the verge of marrying his love, Lois Lane (Erica Durance). Two enemies are also in the picture, however: Darseid and Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum).

The 200th Episode of Smallville, ‘Homecoming’ was definitely worth the wait. It has major fangirl squeal moments, memories, and it might even make you a little misty.

We start out with our gloomy hero in his loft thinking he’s not meant to be hero. And man, Broody Clark is broody. Lois pops in to disrupt Clark’s mope with her ardor for The Blur but Clark is doubtful, he says, “People probably don’t want to put their hope in someone who is going to let them down.”
