At Disney convention, Pixar announces two new films for 2013 and 2014

Pixar announced two new, untitled projects at the Disney’s D23 Expo in Anaheim, California today.

The first film centers on Dinosaurs and is to be directed by Bob Peterson, who co-wrote Finding Nemo. It is scheduled for a 2013 release. The other is an examination of the inner workings of the human brain and will be director Pete Doctor’s follow-up to Up. That one is scheduled for 2014, according to The Los Angeles Times.

This year, the music categories offered a wide variation of nominees. They included animation films as well as live action, and the music had to convey a wide range of activities going on in the films from high stress situations to peaceful compositions. This year, The Social Network walked away with the award for Best Original Score while Toy Story 3 gave Randy Newman a Best Original Song award.

‘Toy Story 3’ Wins Best Animated Film

The third film in the series took home the coveted animated award.

The Best Animated Film category is one of the newer categories with the first film in the Shrek series winning the very first award. This year, the third film in the Toy Story series took home the award. It beat out the other two nominees The Illusionist and How to Train Your Dragon.

Toy Story 3 seemed to be the favorite film to win this award, especially considering that it was also nominated in the Best Picture category with nine other nominees. This animated film was one of the top overall films of 2010, taking in over $400 million.

The third movie in the Toy Story 3 series had Tom Hanks and Tim Allen stealing the hearts of viewers everywhere. That was proven tonight at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards, where the children’s classic was titled Best Animated Feature.

This isn’t anything new for Pixar Studios, on the other hand, who have been in these shoes five times before. Only one year ago, Up! was the Best Animated Feature, and in the past, the Oscars crowned WALL-E, Ratatouille, Finding Nemo, and The Incredibles.

The third part of this lovable trilogy gets lively music to complement the adventures of the toys.

The Toy Story 3 soundtrack is really interesting because it conveys a lot of different emotions and plot points while still being appropriate for an animated children’s film.

'The Social Network' Wins Best Movie at Critics' Choice Awards

The Facebook movie is winning critics over.

On Friday, The Social Network won the top Critics' Choice award for best picture, among three other wins, according to Access Hollywood.

The drama also won for David Fincher's direction, Aaron Sorkin's adapted screenplay and Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross's screenplay.

Inception was in the lead with six awards total in the technical categories.

'Toy Story 3' Receives the Golden Tomato for Best Reviewed Film of 2010

And the Golden Tomato goes to…Toy Story 3.

RottenTomatoes.com has given the animated Pixar film their annual award for the best reviewed film of the year.

The website gathers critic reviews and gives movies a percentage based on the number of favorable critiques. Having received positive reviews from 99 percent of critics, Toy Story 3 has officially been dubbed the best reviewed film of 2010.
