Chris Meloni has finally found his first role after leaving NBC’s Law & Order: SVU. Meloni will join the cast of HBO’s True Blood.

Straw Dogs, directed by Rod Lurie (The Last Castle), is an action thriller about a screenwriter, David Sumner (James Marsden), from LA who decides to move with his wife, Amy (Kate Bosworth), to her hometown in the deep south. After encountering Amy's old childhood flame, tensions begin to mount between the husband and wife who are having a tougher time settling in than they thought. When it becomes apparent the childhood flame, Charlie (Alexander Skarsgard), is still interested in Amy, the situation does not take long before it turns hostile.

As we inch closer to the end of the season of the always “glamorous” HBO series, True Blood, the war between the witches and vamps grows ever more intense, while the were’s and shifters have started pawing their respective ways into the forefront of the plot lines.
