Klaus has a party and a killer is on the loose.

With Elijah undaggered, no one is more surprised than his hybrid brother, Klaus. Since Damon brought Elijah back to life, he wanted to reach an agreement with Klaus with the presence of Stefan and Elijah.

There’s nothing more glamorous than hosting a party with four pulchritudinous vampires in sight. But after dessert is when the serious talk begins. Damon and Stefan lay their cards on the table first: they want Klaus to leave town with his hybrids if they hand over the sealed coffin.

Vampire Barbie celebrates the big 1-8 with a funeral.

Being a teenager is rough as is without being a vampire, but for Caroline (a.k.a Vampire Barbie), she’s stuck being seventeen forever.

At school, Caroline shows up to see Tyler waiting for her at the parking lot to apologize for not being able to be with her because of Klaus. In a way, the two teenagers accept the cards they’re dealt. Acknowledging her birthday, Tyler gifts Caroline a bracelet.

Plan Kill Klaus goes underway with a twist.

Homecoming night may ignite jitters among high school teenagers, but for Elena and her friends, it’s a different kind of nervousness.

To convince Klaus to return to Mystic Falls, Stefan tells him that Mikael is dead, which is technically true even under Klaus’s compulsion. Mikael offered to die, even allowing Elena to dagger him, so that anyone witnessing it could report to Klaus without lying.

Stefan turns off his humanity for good

Despite the danger of ripper Stefan, Klaus, and Rebekah, Elena and her friends are still set on having a senior prank day. But if I were Elena, I would be surrounding myself with a whole lot of bodyguards (e.g. Damon).

Elena’s new white knight Damon is off on an undisclosed road trip with doppelganger Katherine. Interestingly enough, Damon doesn’t really ask Katherine questions about where they’re going until very late when Katherine reveals that she has the leverage against Klaus: the necklace that’s supposedly needed to create an army of hybrid werewolf vamps.

In the last episode, we learned that Stefan and Klaus were buddies from the ‘20s. This episode we learn that their blood might just be thicker than familial blood.

Stefan, Klaus and his sister, Rebekah, are still in Chicago trying to figure out where is the necklace with the help of an experienced witch. The only problem is that the witch has her own agenda.

Back in Mystic Falls, Elena, who diligently wears her necklace, feels a burning imprint of it on her skin. And conveniently, Bonnie is there to figure out what kind of magic is behind the burning sensation.

The CW continued their plan of airing their premieres a week ahead of the other big networks’. The move can easily be called a success, but their new premieres last night still lagged behind the reruns on the other networks.

The Vampire Diaries did well, but it lost viewers from last season. The show’s third season premiere only garnered 3 million viewers with a 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic, according to Entertainment Weekly.

‘The Vampire Diaries’ Recap: Bloody

Season 3 premiere of the hit show doesn't disappoint.

Time and time again, The Vampire Diaries has stuck with its consistent storytelling and has upped its cliffhanger status, but it is never afraid to kill off its beloved characters.

Tonight is no different with the season three premiere and what’s more celebratory than Elena Gilbert’s (Nina Dobrev) 18th birthday?

It has been two months since audiences have last seen self-righteous vampire Stefan (Paul Wesley) turn into a ripper and follow in Klaus’s (Joseph Morgan) footsteps in leaving their victims unhinged to say the least.
