This weekend is the opening of Fright Night, a remake of the 1985 horror comedy when a nerdy teenager, Charley, has a vampire living next door. His life is turned upside down when the neighbor wants to take a bite out of his mother.

Farrell plays the next door neighbor, Jerry, who has eyes for Charley's mother. The movie is like An American Werewolf in London, mixing humor with horror.

Jason Keller to write 'The Passage' screenplay

The movie adaptation of Justin Cronin's epic post-apocalyptic novel The Passage has found itself a screenwriter.

Jason Keller has joined forces with director Matt Reeves to bring the time-jumping vampire novel to the big screen, according to Collider.

Collider reports that Keller's other writing credits include co-writing Relativity Media's upcoming untitled Julia Roberts-headlined Snow White project and Machine Gun Preacher , which was recently bought by Fox and is scheduled for a fall release.

Deadline Hollywood reports that NBC has bought a spec script by Jake in Progress creator/executive producer Austin Winsberg.

The project in question, produced by Warner Bros. TV and McG's studio-based Wonderland production banner, is entitled Zombies vs. Vampires. Careful, though. This should be not be confused with the low-budget movie of a similar name (see the photo attached to this article).
