Thursday, YouTube and Prometheus director Ridley Scott announced that they are teaming up with the Venice Film Festival, the world’s oldest, to create a worldwide online festival called Your Film Festival.
According to Entertainment Weekly, YouTube is asking aspiring filmmakers to submit their own 15-minute shorts beginning Feb. 2 until March 31.

YouTube videos that go viral usually consist of kooky animals or drowsy children, but a heartfelt video about a teenage boy and his lifelong battle with a heart disease called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is catching the attention of millions.
People reported a video of Austin, Texas 18-year-old Ben Breedlove has received more than one million views since it was posted on December 18.
The Los Angeles Times reported Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon Levitt are back together, but not on the silver screen.

Like many, “Day 'n' Nite” rapper Kid Cudi was touched by Texas teen Ben Breedlove’s story.
Ben Breedlove, an 18-year-old resident of Austin, TX, died on Christmas because of complications of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a hereditary heart disease that he had dealt with his entire life. Two YouTube videos that he posted just before Christmas have now gained a new level of poignancy now that his death was announced.
The rock goth band, The Pretty Reckless, has been enjoying iTunes success since the band's single, “Make Me Wanna Die,” opened the Victoria's Secret Fashion show.
According to Zoiks Online, the band's single reached number three on the iTunes rock charts and their album Light Me Up has reached number 11 on the iTunes rock charts.
