Why everyone’s talking about Lana Del Rey: 'Born to Die' review

Artist:
Lana Del Rey
"Born to Die" is addictive

You may have heard someone ask, “Who is this Lana Del Rey person,” in which case you may picture the ever so lovely, voluptuous-lipped, sundress wearing singer who is notorious for her single, “Video Games.”

Originally knows as “Lizzy” Grant from Lake Placid, NY, the talented artist is known for embellishing her songs with vintage Hollywood, America vibes.
Generating “buzz” within the Internet music scene, this 25-year-old songstress, reminiscent to miss Marilyn Monroe, recently released her first album, “Born to Die.”

Review: 'Here We Go Again: Celebrating the Genius of Ray Charles' by Willie Nelson & Wynton Marsalis

Artist:
Willie Nelson and Wynton Marsalis

Willie Nelson and Wynton Marsalis' second collaboration, Here We Go Again: Celebrating the Genius of Ray Charles, is a spirited and fun live tribute album to the one and only Ray Charles. The album features not only Nelson and Marsalis, but also Norah Jones who sings on a few songs. The combination of their sound works well and would have made Ray Charles proud.

Nelson and Marsalis first worked together in 2007, playing live at the Lincoln Center. That performance spawned their 2008 album, Two Men with Blues.

Jessy J's 'Hot Sauce' Album Review

Artist:
Jessy J

Hot Sauce is the third album by renowned smooth jazz artist Jessy J. Not to be confused with the British singer/song-writer of the same (but differently-spelled) name, Jessy J—the J stands for Jazz—has made a place for herself in the contemporary jazz world, and her music is funky and fun.

Shinedown 'Bully' review

Artist:
Shinedown

Shinedown is mostly known for their single, “Second Chance,” which contains a strong pop rock sound but now Shinedown is back with a brand new single for 2012, “Bully.” Shinedown recaptures their modern rock with a slightly heavy metal influences sound with “Bully.” Heavy guitar rifts and intense drum sequences help make this song have more heart. The guitar solo in the middle of the song is nothing less than impressive.

Jason Mraz 'I Won't Give Up' review

Artist:
Jason Mraz

Jason Mraz is known for his witty lyrics, amazing melodies and inspiration songs. Mraz is not afraid to break the mold that pop artists are placed into. With the release of his new single, "I Won't Give Up," Mraz not only creates an unforgettable melody but the lyrics he writes create a love story that inspires. The song feels like Mraz sat down with his guitar and just let this performance create itself organically. The melody and lyrics seem effortless.

The Fray 'Fighter' review

Artist:
The Fray

The Fray is about to release their next album, Scars and Stories, and the band has released another single off of their upcoming album. The Fray first released the single, “Heartbeat” and now has released their next single, “The Fighter.”

The single starts out with Isaac Slade telling a story. Slade has the ability to tell an entire novel of a story in one song. Slade’s vocals present a beautiful yet haunting sound in every breath. The song slowly builds up to the chorus. The chorus showcases Slade’s lyrical story telling and captures his passion as a musician.

Adam Lambert 'Better Than I Know Myself' review

Artist:
Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert is back and has just released his next single, “Better Than I Know Myself.” When audiences first hear the new single off of Lambert’s new album, Trespassing, it might not be instantly recognized as a Lambert song until the chorus.

Dave Grusin’s 'An Evening with Dave Grusin'

Dave Grusin’s CD aptly entitled, “An Evening with Dave Grusin” includes a variety of tracks that encompass a bevy of different musical stylings such as Big Band, Jazz and Instrumental. Grusin’s piano work is superb and the female vocalist that’s present on some tracks really brings soul to each track.
