Micheal Castaldo's album, 'Olive You,' to be released this month (Review) [VIDEO]

Artist:
Micheal Castaldo
Another outstanding creation by the classical Italian singer gaining worldwide notoriety.

Well, let us just say that Micheal Castaldo has left my heart full of song and my soul craving more from his album Olive You: Classic Italian Songs to Feed the Heart & Soul. The way I consume this music is just down right gluttony.

The Emerson String Quartet Gives Mozart Classics New Life

Artist:
The Emerson String Quartet
The Prussian Quartets

Over the last three decades, The Emerson String Quartet has garnered nine Grammy Awards for their achievements in Classic music. Their latest piece pays homage to familiar Mozart compositions and can be heard live in New York and London in the coming months. For those who aren’t all that familiar with classical music, other than the time their middle school teacher played it in class, the long titles may be confusing. I say this, because I happen to fall into that category, and wanted to learn some of these new words.

The many voices of a single instrument - 'Three Stories' by Eldar Djangirov

Artist:
Eldar Djangirov
Three Stories - Album Review

It’s amazing how many voices a single instrument can have. In Three Stories, Eldar shows his mastery with the grand piano, 14 pieces. For fans of contemporary jazz and classical piano, or even newcomers to the genre, the work seems best suited for listening in quiet reflection. It would also be a pleasant soundscape for study, or as the conversation backdrop at one of the upcoming month’s family gatherings.

Canadian born Italian cultural ambassador, entrepreneur and tenor Micheal Castaldo has had many accomplishments over the years, from countless business endeavors which include everything from making his own balsamic vinaigrette and olive oil to wedding and event planning and giving scenic rides to those in need - all while having his award winning singing career.

Castaldo, now living in New York City, recently released his new single on July 5, entitled "Pray’r." The track perfectly showcases his unique style of classic Italian operatic singing mixed with a fresh pop sound.

Satie: Popular Piano Works

Artist:
Aldo Ciccolini

Erik Satie is one the most significant impressionist-era composers to today's musical landscape. He is often credited as an early innovator of ambient music, which he referred to as "furniture music." He is most famous for his solo piano compositions, many of which appear on "Piano Works." His work is some the most subtle and technically simple of all music under the banner of "classical." At the same time, it is evocative in a way that no other pianist has yet to achieve.

This collection is an excellent interpretation of Satie's most famous works.

Stravinski: The Rite of Spring

Artist:
The Chicago Symphony Orchestra & Seiji Ozawa

When Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring" opened, the debate about it was so fierce that a riot ensued and the theatre suffered a fire. One account tells how one man, so enthralled with the music and ballet, did not notice the man above him rhythmically banging on his head.

Jacques Loussier Plays Bach

Artist:
Jacques Loussier

I am consistently in awe of anyone who showcases the ability to interpret and perform classical music, but especially when it is done with as much vigor, originality and talent as is the case on Jacques Loussier Plays Bach.

"Little Fugue In G Minor" is a marvel, grabbing you from the get-go and remaining relentless throughout. By contrast, "Concerto in F Minor" is a departure, putting a slightly different spin on things by setting the song to a more modern, pop-infused beat.

Music of the Spheres

Artist:
Daniel Barry

Daniel Barry's "Music of the Spheres" is a sort of symphonic celestial soundtrack. Each instrumental piece here is very brief, working together to produce a comprehensive picture, and yet they communicate differently and stand alone as individual recordings.

"Quasar Dance" strikes a triumphant note, and the opening of "Angels and Devils" is eerily reminiscent of "Also Sprach Zarathustra." "Sonic Graffiti" also bears a striking similarity. In fact, it is difficult to tell it apart from "Angels and Devils."

And I Remain - Three Love Stories

Artist:
Linda Tsatsanis and John Lenti

Linda Tsatsanis is an accomplished singer, having sung for the Boston Music Festival, Seattle Choral Company, the Elmer Iseler Singers and more during her career. John Lenti is a lute player who has performed throughout the eastern United States and studied with two of the greatest lutenists in Europe.

Put these talented individuals together and you get And I Remain ? Three Love Stories. Although the majority of the 18 songs are in either French or Italian, an understanding of the lyrics is not necessary to enjoy the music.
