Guided by Voices is guided by something. There's a heavy degree of work put into the crafting of the song here. Not the music, the lyrics, but the overall package. This is one of the only bands that I'd love to ask, "Who are your influences?" as it's clear that there are MANY influences. At times it sounds 60s, then acoustic, then jazzy... it goes on and on like The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's multi-influenced album. Certainly an album you'll listen to a few times over.
