Self Titled
John Williams' score to Steven Spielberg's latest filmis a throwback to the jazz scores of the composer'searly days. The music perfectly matches the escapadesof con-artist Frank Abagnale. The animated openingmusic is a highlight not too far removed fromsomething sounding similar to Henry Mancini."Recollections (The Father's Theme)" is a wonderfultrack with a haunting solo saxophone and recommendedlistening. This is John Williams doing progressivejazz not big orchestral Star Wars music. There aresome jazz standards included on the album like StanGetz and Frank Sinatra. This is overall a good scorethat shows Williams at the top of his craft.
