Self Titled

A beautiful score that should have won plenty of awardsbut was overlooked. This score, written by film composer legend Elmer Bernstein, is nostalgic and reminiscent of his masterpiece, To Kill A Mockingbird. Bernstein takes an approach similar to his early days of scoring film in the 1950s, with a moderate sized orchestra. The music is small at times, with gorgeous oboe and strings, like in the track "Evening Rest." The track "Prowl" is haunting and playful at the same time. The soft solo piano and melancholy feel of this score overall make it simply perfect.
