Various - Black Power: Music Of A Revolution
- This CD is not as much a musical collection of black power songs from the '60s and '70s, but, in fact, a documentary of that era. Between every other song, or so, are snippets of speeches given by Malcolm X, Huey Newton and Stokely Carmichael, which clearly give a context for the song. Right after the speech, is a song that reflects the feelings. That said, this is not the kind of album you’ll buy for a party, or such, as you’re having snippets of the speeches every few seconds, but it is the kind of album where you’ll learn about an era in our cultural development.
