James L. Venable - Holding Space
- Simply put, this is an album full of songs you would never expect to like. Tracks like "Happy Ending" sound a bit like a cross between a Japanese toy commercial and a dance hit mixed together. Each one of them has a beat that will get you moving, but with mixed in Electronica sounds that will simply confuse you. For example, I was replaying "Happy Ending" a few dozen times just to hear the rhythmic Japanese signers count to 10 in Japanese. Odd, interesting, but good.
