Ike Reilly Assassination - Sparkle in the Finish
- Ike Reilly writes songs which come across musically as pop but lyrically as little stories. One minute he’s singing about an affair with a woman who works in a tollbooth, and the next minute he’s singing about church. Musically, you’ll find yourself bobbing and shaking your head like you would to any good pop tune. Lyrically you’ll find yourself listening to the stories like you would listen to Grandpa by the fireplace. Clearly there’s a musical to lyrical disconnect, but it’s all good.
