Jerry Goldsmith wrote one of the busiest scores of his career, once stating that the score had more notes in it than a Bruckner symphony. This score is a marvel from the first track to the last. Many cues contain a hard edge and dissonant sound in the orchestration. The music is as violent as the film itself and Goldsmith's approach to the action is breathtaking.
