Ladysmith Black Mambazo - No Boundaries
- At first it seems to be an odd mix, but in fact it works out quite well. Ladysmith performs songs like “Homeless” which they made famous on Paul Simon’s “Graceland” album, and then stretch over to, “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” with just as much ease. While I still prefer Ladysmith Black Mambazo live, acapella and natural, this brings along another element. In the background of nearly every track is the strings of the English Chamber Orchestra, and fortunately, they are a light background and not overpowering. Overall, it’s a great mix of two different musical worlds.
