John Reuben - the voy vs the cynic
- The moment someone puts out a faith-based album it seems to get lumped into that category and not in any other genre. Yes, this is a Christian album as based on the title too, but John Reuben gets across his faith and feelings without being preachy. This all said, Reuben shouldn’t simply be tossed in the same bin as every Christian act, as his music and work as an MC is some of the best I’ve heard in a while.
The background is more than beats and drums. Reuben has succeeded in merging variety of musical styles--from 70s dance to 90s rock--while rapping his positive message right over it. John Reuben is somebody to keep an eye out for.
