Aruna not only sounds like a poppy version of Alanis Morissette meets Tori Amos, but the parallels go further. Like Tori Amos, Aruna has had a classical piano background. In addition she had a stint with a metal band. Now, her music is an intimate set of piano tracks opening her heart in a slightly more aggressive manner than Tori would, but sweet, nice and slightly poppy. "Not Your Mommy" and "Break You Open" have to be two of the best tracks, as they have the open lyrics and the slightly poppy feel.
