The Narrator - Such Triumph
- Less bullshit, and more sound is what you get when you listen to the Narrator’s new album, Such Triumph. There is a unique mix of drums and cymbals that crossbreed into electronica-punk. Emo fans will like it equally as much as punk fans will. The album includes head banging beats as well as softer melodies.

The first track, “New Blood, new Weather”, is like hard liquor. It’s tough to swallow at first, but it gets smoother the more you listen to it. People who like the eccentric sounds of The Faint and Brighteyes will enjoy the familiar sound of more than half of the songs on this album.

While most of the songs are catchy, the lyrics tend to be depressing, lacking identity, and chaotic. Emo-lovers will enjoy track four, “Crap Dragon,” and track ten, “Wolves in the Walls.” Those who enjoyed bands like the Hives and the Vines will relate to the sound of “Pregnant Boys,” which is the second track on the cd. If you like the Killers, you will also like these songs.

The album sounds like it would be good to pop in the cd player on a log road trip, or on your way home from work during rush-hour. There seems to be a lot of talent, passion, and emotion in the Narrator’s new 12-track album.
