J-Live - The Hear and After
- J-live, still talented as ever, released his third album The Hear After. The MC’s new cd is more musically experimental then the last two, but it doesn’t lose all of its old-school charm.

The cleverly laid-out album starts with “After,” where J-live makes shout-outs to the people who supported and helped with the album. The second track “Here” is where J-live deservedly calls himself a “well-rounded MC.”

J’s clear voice and smooth flow is still intact, but lyrically, J-live has grown. He once rapped in battle-like style, but now grown-up, J raps about his family. Some of the situations he talks about tend to be trite, but they don’t ruin the entire album.

J-live lovers may be disappointed by with the new album, but to me the beats still sound strong.
