Ladell Mclin - Stand Out
- Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, these are names known by anyone who respects fine guitar playing. On Stand Out, Ladell Mclin shows that he should be included amongst the greats. The album’s mixture of blues and rock is a throwback to the music of the 60’s. Ladell Mclin, proves that great guitar talent didn’t die in that decade.
In the style of Hendrix, Stand Out includes a mixture of spoken and sung lyrics. The tracks deal mostly with the timeless subject, women including, “Mona Lisa,” “Hooked” and “Comin’ at Ya.” Listening to these song will no doubt remind you of the classic, “Foxy Lady.”
Of course, it wouldn’t be fair to say Ladell Mclin is trying to mimic other guitarists. On Stand Out, he sets himself apart. However, there’s no denying his influences.
