Dengue Fever - Escape from Dragon House
- The band, Dengue Fever, is not only named after a flu-like illness spread by a mosquito bite, but if a flu-like illness could speak, it would sound like Dengue Fever’s album “Escape from the Dragon House.”

This album may have been better suited for the soundtrack of “Kill Bill,” the violent, yet comical movie written by Quentin Tarantino. Just like the odd movie by Tarantino, Dengue Fever seems to be experimental, focusing on guitar riffs and vocals.

Despite the weirdness you feel when you first listen to the music, the vocals are quite good. Everything meshes well, especially tack eight, which sounds like a mix between the vocals of Jack Johnson and Joy Luck Club.

If you are willing to take a chance, Dengue Fever is a rare oddity that is worth playing. Let’s just hope this “Fever” doesn’t spread too far.
