Bronson Arroyo - Covering the Bases
- If you’re not a Red Sox fan, and especially if you’re a Yankees fan, you may be quick to dismiss an album from Boston pitcher, Bronson Arroyo. However, you should put your baseball prejudices aside, and judge Bronson solely on his musical abilities. His first effort as a musician is a collection of covers entitled, Covering the Bases. Most of the tracks featured on this album are alternative hits including, “The Freshman,” “Slide” and “Everlong.” The versions on this album are spot on, from the vocals to the instrumentals. This is great for anyone who wants to hear the songs as close to the originals as possible. Those who were curious to see if Bronson could add his own twist will be disappointed. Either way, it is clear Bronson is a talented singer, but predicting his success as an artist will have to wait until he can prove his skills on an original album.
