Enter the Haggis - Casualities of Retail
- Irish rockers Enter the Haggis have a knack for combining the traditional sounds of their culture with musical styles from around the globe. Their latest album, Causalities of Retail combines a Celtic style with, among others, elements of bluegrass, rock, and Latin beats. While every track on this album has a distinct Celtic sound, some tracks lean more towards another style of music. For example, the heavily bluegrass sound on “Another Round” and “Gasoline.” Then there are tracks that do not focus on one style of music such as, “Twirling Towards Freedom,” an instrumental that includes rock and Latin rhythms and melodies. The album may explore a variety of musical concepts, but the Celtic tracks are where the band shines. “Haven” and “Minstrel Boy” are wonderful songs in the tradition Irish storytelling.
