E.S.T. - Viaticum
- Swedish jazz trio E.S.T is a group of musicians who appreciate music and know to use it to craft interesting compositions. Their latest album, Viaticum will put your mind and ears to work. This is not an album not for casual listeners, but for those who will take the time to listen and focus on the music. Those who do will respect E.S.T. conscious musical choices, such as the stretch of silence on “What Though The Way May Be Long.” The piano is without question the star of this album, but there are moments when the percussion shines, for example, the drum solo towards the end of “In the Tail of Her Eye.” The album features a wide range of themes. There’s the darker, “The Unstable Table & Infamous Fable” and the upbeat “A Picture of Doris Traveling with Boris.”
