James Blunt
Back to Bedlam

There are many musicians who speak out against the problems of the world, but there are very few who've faced them. James Blunt isn't just someone who sings about war, he is someone who's seen it with his own eyes. On his debut album, Back to Bedlam he brings a depth to his music few artists can match. On the emotional track, "No Bravery," James sings, "Old men kneel and accept their fate/Wives and daughters cut and raped/A generation drenched in hate/Yes, he has been here." Even on tracks that aren't as politically charged, James unleashes strong lyrics. The words of "You're Beautiful" are raw and moving; "There must be an/ angel with a smile on her face/When she thought up that I should be with you/But it's time to face the truth/I will never be with you."
