- With the cold knocking on my front door at night and creeping in my car during the mornings... anything that has the incline of warmth is certain to grasp my attention. Warm Embrace is more than just a title of James E. Wall’s debut album. It implodes with soothing sounds and comforting melodies, making me feel a warm cup of cocoa in front of the fire wouldn’t go amiss.
Wall uses instrumentals to ignite the feeling of relaxation and tranquility... and focus on his ultimate belief of a higher power. The quiet humming of saxophone and flute is a peaceful reminder that sometimes words are not needed, when clearly the instrument can carry such strength. With song names such as Morning Sunrise, Cool Waters and Soul Refresher, this is not a CD you are likely to dismiss.
The gentleness and calm of Warm Embrace resembles the powdery snow falling softly onto the ground, but unlike reality, does not once reject you... instead taking you in with open arms.
If you need some therapy, ignore the doctoral kind and indulge in James E. Wall... with his instrumental novocaine.
