Jana Herzen - Soup’s On Fire
- It is hard to define Jana Herzen’s voice or even to categorize her CD. This schizophrenic masterpiece is everywhere at once. With hints of Celtic, Jazz, and even some African and Australian beats, she has an obvious style; it’s just hard to say what it is. Jazzier songs, such as “Your Secrets are Safe With Me,” keep the CD upbeat and soul-full. “Time to Remember” brings its audience back to the crime fighting days of great detectives such as the fictional Dick Tracy. Just when you think it’s a jazz album, Jana then proceeds to confuse her audience even more by singing of small villages in the jungle and jungle rain. This CD takes you around the world and then back to the days of jazz. Very unique and cleaver, Jana is obviously a talented singer with her deep, rich voice and a good CD.
