Bob Brozman - Blues Reflex
- Bob Brozman is a worldly known blues guitarist, prolific recording artist, performer, producer and author of making a variety of countries come together. This album, "Blues Reflex" is just that, reflective of blending other cultures with blues music and helping you to understand that there is more music to get to know.
Due to the many projects that he has done (18 CD's), he is now known for the "virtuoso musician". In this outing, the "slide guitarist" has song titles that match what he tries to re-create in his blues music. For example, selection #2 "Rattlesnake Blues" sounds like some down home southern blues from the Deep South. He combines what sounds like a violin, a banjo, and piano keyboard to give the overall affect of the south.
Through the language of his guitar, Bob takes people on a worldwide tour of what blues should sound like where ever he visits. For example, track #10 "New Guinea Blues" sounds somewhat mid-tempo paced violin music with his vocals over some piano riffs and guitar plucks. This world blues artist takes one through some emotions also. On tracks #4 "Death Come Creepin'" and #13 "Workman's Song", one can tell that his music and lyrics express and give the mental picture of each songs title description. The "Death Come Creepin'" track is a slow western type feel to it where you can imagine a cowboy about to meet his fate or a lover leaving his presence. Bob does his usual good job of helping someone break barriers in artist quality for blues and other cultural music. Check out his website for his multiple albums and cultural influences.
