Bitter:Sweet - The Mating Game
- Bitter:Sweet is sexy funk for 2006. There is nothing bitter-sweet about this CD, for it is mesmerizing, sexy, funky and intriguing. The Mating Game duo is made up of Shana Halligan and Kiran Shahani, and their sound is artistic and mysterious with a blend of jazz, new age and romanticism. The vocals entice you closer and closer so that you are hearing every lyric and taking in all that the music has to offer. You cannot help but to get up and glide those hips from side to side, especially while listening to track six. You might just want to tango after listening to track five. The CD's sound reminds you of a James Bond, Pink Panther, I Spy type of movie. You can see the heroine and hero of the movie making love while plotting their escape, or seducing the villain and his trusty minions. Music like this should be welcomed in the trendiest night spots, martini lounges and art galleries.
