Ana Laura - Ana Laura
- Described as a cross between pop success Kelly Clarkson and Christian artist Jaci Velasquez, this newcomer delivers heartfelt vocals and inspirational lyrics in a style all her own. On her self-titled debut, 19 year-old Texan Ana Laura puts God first and steps out on faith, embarking on what is hopefully a long and wide-reaching Christian ministry through music.
From start to finish, Ana uplifts and engages listeners with tracks ranging from pop-rock ballads to up-tempo testimonies of faith. On the first song, “Sometimes,” Ana sings of the struggles often present in spiritual life, opting for an edgy, somber tone. She then follows with “No More,” showcasing her song-writing abilities on this upbeat pop tune that professes her conviction and commitment to a higher spiritual calling. “Water,” another notable track, features strong, sassy delivery that challenges the myth that Christian music need be quiet in order to be effective and true to the Gospel.
“Ana Laura” proves to be a cohesive, carefully arranged, and powerful debut highlighting this young artist’s great vocal range, and diverse musical style. Look for great things to come.
