The festive “La Flor de la Canela” has become an anthem for the city of Lima, a fitting tribute to Peruvian vocalist Chabuca Granda. Virginia Lopez’ classic delivery soars on “Perfume de Gardenias,” and celebrated Cuban singer Olga Guillot’s deep, rich timbre on “Tu Me Acostumbraste” complemented by the jazzy piano and soft percussion of a bolera ballad, is nothing short of “Maravillosa!!!” “El Canto de las Sirenas,” part of a 10 disc collection, showcases the talented feminine voices that continue to enchant their homeland and fans abroad.
