Heritage of Hymns
I suppose there's no more secure market out there than Christian music. I mean, most fads can come and go, but there'll always be Christians. Now, of course there is a wide variety of musical genres that have been adapted to fit the Christian message over the years, from rock to reggae, and some controversy has followed in the path of these attempts at innovations.
But fear not, true believer, for the folks of the Faith & Inspiration choir have chosen to avoid provocation and stick with the old school formulae. This collection of old hymns and organ pieces is tantamount to bringing your placid country church home with you during the week, minus the actual community and sermon at the pulpit. All the must-haves of the 19th century camp movements are here as well as other classics like "Ave Maria". What collection is complete without that one, eh? So, if you've ever left the chapel wishing that they had just continued on for one more ode to God, then this may just be your saving grace. Otherwise, you might be hard-pressed to give up any more tithes to a group that doesn't do anything to distinguish itself from the pack of other choirs out there (Though maybe standing out isn't the point in organized religion?) and just recycles a set of Christian music standards.
Sorry, but to appreciate this collection takes a little more faith than I'm capable of right now.
