Organissimo - This Is the Place
- Jazz instrumental enthusiasts will not have to go far for their fix of rhythmic experimentation and stimulating improvisation boasts Organissimo: “This is the Place.” Playing outside the box, the Lansing, Michigan trio serves up a new blend of jazz, funk, blues, and Latin-influenced pieces. Jim Alfredson plays the unmistakable Hammond B3 organ, Joe Gloss layers on complimenting guitar solos, and Randy Marsh jams on the drums. The results are laid-back and sweet as “Pumpkin Pie.”

Look out for Organissimo’s homage to Frank Zappa’s “Peaches en Regalia” – the organ takes the rock classic to a new soulful high. Organissimo makes a head nodding, toe-tapping, joyful noise. If you like this then be sure to check out their acclaimed 2003 debut, "Waiting For The Boogaloo Sisters."
