Jim Van Cleve - No Apologies
- Jim Van Cleve, fiddler of Mountain Heart, the band he helped form, goes solo with his debut album “No Apologies.” It’s a sparkling album where Jim’s artistry as a brilliant fiddler is in top-notch form, but on “No Apologies” he gets to compose, arrange, turn in lead singer status, and produce. Fellow Mountain Heart band mates were also along for the ride, and this time around it’s Jim’s vision that got to play out on an album.
“Nature of the Beast”, “Fall Creek Falls”, “Devil’s Courthouse”, “We Can’t Be Darlings Anymore” and “Wheel Hoss” breathed such fulfillment on the album. But it was the gut-wrenching intensity of “Scars” that cried out in a beautiful reflection of acceptance through the honest, and powerfully pretty, and sweetly haunting vocals of Sonya Isaacs, and through, the magic that Jim Van Cleve created with his fiddle.
“No Apologies” in stores on Tuesday, May 9th and it comes highly recommended.
