Blackpool Lights - This Town's Disaster
- Blackpool Light’s debut “This Town’s Disaster” is not just power pop and rock; it’s about creating and enjoying the music for how it’s represented from within. It’s real, fresh, and laded with emotion and style. Blackpool’s music is not stripped down music from other bands; it’s their own sound, and that’s what makes them so fun and enjoyable to listen to.

Digging into the band’s past I found out that drummer Billy Brimblecom had cancer, and had to have his leg amputated. The music felt inside of him, and didn’t let it stop his love of performing. Now that’s a beautiful message to send out to the world. Blackpool Lights is a fighting band and a dam good one too! I think, in time, they’ll grow, and evoke stories that’ll reveal even more of themselves through their music.

“This Town’s Disaster”, “Blue Skies”, “Maybe Just Maybe”, “It’s Never About What It’s About”, “The Truth About Love”, “Crash Sounds” (my sweet, sweet favorite) and “Unlucky” really sealed it for me, and made me realize that Blackpool Lights have something pretty cool to say through their songs and music. I’d have to say to absolutely check out their album “This Town’s Disaster” which will be in stores on Tuesday, June 20th.
